If you are a chocolate and an animal lover combined in one person, then this delicious vegan chocolate mousse recipe is for you. It has a wonderful texture and a rich chocolate flavor. With bananas, chocolate and avocados being the main ingredients, this recipe makes a vegan and healthy version of the traditional chocolate mousse. You won’t taste the flavor of avocados by consuming it within 24 hours. The avocado taste may come through a bit after this time though. But I guess it won’t last long once you have scooped, or piped it into bowls 😉 You can decorate the chocolate mousse with some berries, like blueberries, raspberries or strawberries if you like.
In a pot heat up about three fingers high of water and then place a bowl into it, containing 80 gram of organic 80 cocoa chocolate broken into pieces. Let the water simmer, but not boil, until the chocolate is fully melted. During this process stir the chocolate a few times and take care that no water gets into the chocolate bowl (or it will ruin your chocolate).
Cut four small ripe avocados in half and remove the pits.
Then scoop the avocado out of their skins
and into the bowl of a food blender.
Now peel two medium size bananas and add them in big chunks to the avocado.
Add 1/4 teaspoon of salt (I have used french camargue fleur de sel).
Pour 100 ml of cocoa cream (I have used organic cocoa cuisine) into the bowl.
Next add 50 ml of organic agave nectar.
Stir the chocolate a few times until all pieces are completely melted.
As a last ingredient pour the melted chocolate into the bowl of the blender.
Now close the lid and blend all ingredients for a few minutes until you have a smooth and well combined cream.
I had a little kitchen helper who was happily pressing the button and watching the noisy blending going on 😉
Now your blended mousse is ready to go into the fridge for 3-4 hours, to be cooled down.
After the cooling time scoop the chocolate mousse into a mixing bowl and get a handmixer with wire wisks ready (or let your kitchen machine do it).
Whisk your chocolate mousse on high speed for about two minutes.
Now either scoop the mousse into some glass bowls, or prepare a pastry bag with a large star tip to pipe it.
Fill the pastry bag with your chocolate mousse.
Have some beautiful glasses or dessert bowls ready.
Now beautifully pipe out your chocolate mousse into the prepared glasses.
Your delicious, vegan, healthy chocolate mousse is ready for serving now.
